Highgate, London

2012

This new house was built on a landlocked site in north London. To access the property, it was necessary to create a driveway through the living room of an existing detached Victorian house. The new house is comprised of two interlocking boxes that form a covered entrance courtyard. The ground floor has a glazed facade looking out over the expansive woodland. The first-floor reception room has a projecting glass window that frames a stunning view over Queen’s Wood and north-east London. The house exists in bucolic isolation yet is just five minutes from the London Underground.
