Fitzrovia, London

1994

The top two floors of this typical Georgian London house had been converted into a living room and separate kitchen on the lower floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor. The reconfigured space creates an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space on the top floor, with access to a roof terrace and two transformable bedrooms, a shower room and a study on the lower floor. A full-width single sheet skylight brings sunlight into the kitchen/dining area and a glass table and glass floor channel natural light to the floor below. The rear balcony is arranged for ventilation rather than views, bringing fresh air and city sounds to the dining table under the glass roof.
